Company Overview
DBS Logipark, located in Zeewolde, manufactures speed gates for parking garages. These rapid folding gates are widely used by contractors, building new underground parking facilities, where available installation space is often limited. For DBS Logipark, precision is critical because the gates need to fit inside the narrowest possible tube, helping customers lose as little installation space as possible at an entrance.
That requirement creates a demanding production challenge. DBS Logipark needs to cut with very high accuracy inside tubes that are just 200 millimeters wide. The work is detailed, tight, and highly dependent on consistent cutting quality.
Challenges: manual cutting required a high skill level and was time-consuming and demanding
Before introducing automation, this precision cutting was carried out manually. According to Kenneth , owner of DBS Logipark, the work was done by hand and required a high degree of precision. While manual cutting was possible, it was time-consuming and required a high skill level.
The challenge became more significant when DBS Logipark started working with heavier tubes. Cutting a 300 by 300 millimeter tube with a wall thickness of 15 millimeters by hand was described as time-consuming and demanding. This made the company investigate whether the process could be automated.
The product's nature made the challenge more than a question of speed. DBS Logipark needed a solution that could support precise cutting in narrow tubes, handle thicker materials, and maintain consistent quality. The solution also had to work for real production needs, not just isolated cuts, because the company manufactures gates used in parking garage projects.
In short, DBS Logipark needed to move away from a manual process that was demanding, time-intensive, and dependent on operator skill, while maintaining the accuracy required for its speed gate products.
Where we used to spend about an hour to an hour and a half cutting a tube by hand, we now do it with the WeCobot and Hypertherm combined solution in about 5 minutes.

Solution: the combined WeCobot and Hypertherm solutions provided accurate tube cutting, thicker material capability, and repeatable quality
DBS Logipark began looking for a cutting solution that could be combined with a cobot. That search led the company to WeCobot and partner GT Lastechniek, a company DBS Logipark had already been working with for some time. The final setup combined the WeCobot plasma-cutting solution with a Hypertherm Powermax65 SYNC® plasma-cutting machine.
DBS Logipark, WeCobot, and GT Lastechniek selected the combination after closely evaluating which cutting solution could be integrated with a cobot arm to deliver the best results for DBS Logipark’s products. This meant the solution closely matched the company’s specific production needs: accurate tube cutting, thicker-material capability, and repeatable quality.
The results were clear. The combination of WeCobot and Hypertherm proved to be a perfect fit for DBS Logipark. Orfeo Nooitmeer, operator at DBS Logipark, works with the system every day and explains that cutting with Hypertherm works well for them and is very flexible. He notes that while a 200-millimeter tube with a 6-millimeter wall thickness was manageable by hand, the larger 300 by 300 millimeter tubes with 15 millimeter wall thickness were much more difficult to cut neatly by hand. With Hypertherm, he says, cutting the thicker tube is just as easy as cutting the 6-millimeter tube.
The biggest gain is time, and the speed improvement doesn’t come at the cost of quality. According to Leeuwenkamp, the cut quality of the Hypertherm machine is good, and the precision, accuracy, and quality are always the same.
He also describes the solution as smooth and easy and notes he would recommend the Hypertherm machine. For companies that want to run high volumes, he calls it a fantastic solution, adding that the WeCobot plasma-cutting solution keeps running reliably and that the cobot and ONE software are incredibly easy to operate.
Together, the WeCobot plasma-cutting solution and Hypertherm Powermax65 SYNC helped DBS Logipark make a demanding manual cutting process faster, more consistent, and easier to operate.
