Plasma Cutting Robot with Daihen
Private shows to be held in Hiroshima, Okayama, and Kyushu starting in May
Hypertherm Japan (Nishi-ku, Osaka; Tel: 06-6225-1183), the Japanese subsidiary of a major U.S. plasma cutting equipment manufacturer, and industrial robot manufacturer Daihen will jointly begin full-scale sales this year of a “plasma cutting robot package” using robots. As part of this initiative, they will hold private shows for customers in the Chugoku and Kyushu regions from May through early July.
The package combines Hypertherm’s latest plasma cutting system, the XPR460, mounted on a Daihen robot system, designed for cutting aluminum and stainless steel. It has already been delivered domestically and internationally, and interest is rapidly increasing. Therefore, the events will be structured to allow participants to experience its effectiveness firsthand through live demonstrations.

Demonstration details
The demonstration will feature water plasma cutting, which uses water and nitrogen to reduce the adhesion of molten metal spatter generated during cutting to surrounding products.
This method is attracting attention for trimming die-cast products. Specifically, they will demonstrate cutting a 12 mm thick aluminum alloy plate, showing that no spatter adheres to another aluminum alloy plate placed 10 cm below the cut material.
