Trade Show featuring Hypertherm

In July 2026, Hypertherm and PT Great Dynamic Indonesia hosted an Open House at the partner's Demo Centre in Batam, Indonesia, bringing together fabricators, manufacturers, and metalworking professionals to explore the latest plasma cutting, gouging, beveling, and automation applications powered by Powermax® systems. The event focused on practical, application-driven solutions designed to help manufacturers improve cutting performance, process consistency, and operational efficiency across a variety of fabrication and maintenance environments.

Demonstrating the Versatility of Powermax

Throughout the event, attendees experienced live demonstrations showcasing how Powermax technology can support multiple applications beyond conventional handheld cutting.

One of the key demonstrations featured semi-automatic cutting, gouging, and bevel cutting using a Powermax system mounted on a track carriage. By combining the versatility of air plasma with mechanized motion, the solution demonstrated how fabricators can achieve consistent results for straight-line cutting, weld preparation, and gouging applications. This approach provides an effective option for manufacturers seeking improved process control while maintaining the flexibility required for a wide range of fabrication tasks.

Attendees also observed Powermax gouging applications used for weld removal, defect correction, and surface preparation. Bevel cutting demonstrations further highlighted the ability of plasma technology to support weld-ready edge preparation, helping manufacturers streamline downstream fabrication processes.

First Cobot Plasma Showcase in Batam

The highlight of the event was the introduction of Cobot Plasma technology, marking the first public showcase of the solution in Batam, Indonesia.

By integrating a collaborative robot with Hypertherm Powermax technology, manufacturers can automate plasma cutting, beveling, and gouging applications while maintaining the flexibility required for a broad range of part sizes and geometries.

During the live demonstration, attendees witnessed Cobot Plasma performing 3D cutting, bevel cutting, and gouging applications. The system showcased how collaborative automation can be applied to complex cutting paths and multi-angle processing tasks that are often challenging to perform consistently using manual methods.

The ability to perform multiple processes on a single platform attracted strong interest from participants looking to expand their application capabilities and explore practical approaches to plasma automation. As one of the first demonstrations of its kind in Batam, the showcase provided valuable insights into how collaborative robotic technology can be applied to fabrication, repair, maintenance, and industrial manufacturing applications.
