Flooding and your Hypertherm product

Our thoughts are with everyone on the U.S. Gulf Coast impacted by Hurricane Harvey. We are saddened by the devastation caused to so many communities.

A team of Hypertherm Associates is working to coordinate our response, taking into account the lessons learned in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina 12 years ago. Immediately though, we are organizing a financial contribution to the Red Cross and planning to send a group of Associates to help with the clean-up effort.

Though the well-being of your family, friends, and neighbors is understandably the top priority right now, we know many of you are returning to your homes and businesses for the difficult task of cleaning up. Here's what to do if you discover that your Hypertherm product was exposed to water or mud.

While there are no guarantees, there is a chance your product is salvageable so please don’t scrap it. Instead get your product out of the mud or water so it can start drying out, but DO NOT turn it on, take the cover off, or try to repair it yourself. The odds of salvaging your plasma, waterjet, or motion control are much greater if looked at by a professional.

  1. Powermax systems can go to an authorized service center. Visit our Repair Center Locator for a list of locations in your area.

  2. For larger products (like our HyPerformance Plasma, waterjets, or motion controllers,) please contact your Table Manufacturer for direction on what to do. If you need additional support, you can also contact Hypertherm's Technical Service team.

If your product is not salvageable and you are able to file an insurance claim, you will likely need your serial number. We can help with that provided you registered your system after purchase. Call us at 800-643-0030 ext. 2904 for help locating your serial number or just to check if we have a record of your product.

And while we certainly hope this isn't the case, in the event your system is not salvagable and you do not have insurance, hang on to it. We are working with our authorized retail locations on special trade-in programs for victims of this tragedy. Please contact your gas and welding distributor or table manufacturer for details specific to your situation.
