Cutting hard to reach areas

Sometimes you’re faced with a job that isn’t easy. (Okay, so maybe it’s a lot of the time.) The items you need arrive late, a critical tool decides to act up, a well thought out plan turns out to be not so well thought out after all.

We can’t stop those days from happening, but we can share a tool bound to make your life a little easier. As the pictures below show, lots of jobs require the cutting of metal that isn’t flat or easy to access.

You might have to cut through something like an I-beam, C-beam, box tube, or a piece of metal welded inside something else.

Hypertherm’s solution (developed with feedback from customers who kept telling us they needed a way to cut metal like this) is pretty simple. You don’t need a new plasma system, all you need is a new set of consumables.

Hypertherm’s HyAccess consumables are longer and thinner than normal consumables. You can see the difference in the photo at the very top of this post. The top torch is loaded with HyAccess, while the bottom torch is loaded with a normal consumable set. In total, HyAccess consumables extend three inches longer making it easier to cut in tight places.

These consumables are available for almost all of our Powermax air plasma systems and even some of our older MAX plasma systems. You can learn more about HyAccess by visiting the HyAccess page.
