Waterjet cutting: Abrasive or pure water?

Here's a simple way to tell what type of waterjet you might need. Ask yourself "Can it be cut with scissors?"

Items like fabric, rubber, thin plastic, and food products like strawberries, chicken, or cakes can be cut with a standard pair of scissors and thus are good candidates for cutting with a pure waterjet system.

Metal such as mild steel and aluminum, stone, ceramic, and thicker plastics can't be cut with a standard pair of scissors and would require the use of an abrasive waterjet.
