Better bevels with plasma

Creating a beveled edge when cutting metal is something most fabricators need to do. It is estimated that 90 percent have to make at least some parts with a bevel since beveled edges are needed for fit-up.

Despite this fact, beveling isn’t exactly fun or easy. It takes a lot of trial and error to get a bevel program to work just right.

Dan McLenithan, a product application engineer here at Hypertherm has done a lot of work on beveling to better understand the whole process and what makes it so challenging. Recently, he presented some of his findings, including things he's learned to make beveling easier, in a Hypertherm webinar titled Better Bevels with Plasma.
