When running a shop, the last thing you need to worry about is your system going down, which is why in customer surveys, reliability is often one of the top criteria for people. At Hypertherm, reliability is designed into every system we build. Some examples include our Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, which utilizes software instead of hardware to perform key internal-functions; and our Powercool™ technology, which cools key components efficiently and effectively for superior system reliability.

We also practice lean design in which we challenge our engineers to engineer our systems with fewer parts. Why is this important? Well, fewer parts help keep costs down so we can sell you a system for less but it also means there are fewer parts to break.

This quote from one of our engineers probably sums up our testing philosophy best…"We test these products until they break. Then we find the problem, fix it, and test them again, always under the most severe operating conditions…” In other words we test, re-test, and test again. And that’s just the engineering phase. Reliability is also top of mind when specifying parts, choosing a supplier, and manufacturing our systems.

Hopefully you get the idea…our American built systems are made to last…and last. How old is your system? If it’s 5 years or older take a picture, grab your serial number and click this link or visit our Facebook (www.facebook.com/Hypertherm) page to enter our “For those who cut anything but corners” photo contest! You’ll get an “I cut anything but corners t-shirt” just for entering and if your system happens to be the oldest, you’ll get $500.
