We first learned about metal artist Kelly Phipps from a segment on Oregon Public Broadcasting. What we were surprised to find out is she’s been a Hypertherm customer for more than 18 years.

Although she is a Colorado native, Kelly has called the small town of Hood River, Ore. home for many years. Just an hour outside of Portland, the town is a mecca for artisans on all kinds. Locally and nationally, Kelly is known for her intricate hand-cut designs on shovel heads, signs, tables and gates, and over the past few years, functional automotive art panels and displays. Kelly creates many of her pieces in her workshop with a Powermax30® XP which she uses with a hand cutting torch.

Because her work is so detailed, cut quality and comfort is what she deems most important. She explains, “The first time I used the Powermax, I couldn’t believe how well it worked; from the handle feel to being able to easily switch tips for different illustrations and designs – it’s perfect for everyday use.”

Kelly accepts custom orders, showcases in galleries and has her own showroom in Hood River. Learn more about her work at https://www.kellyphipps.com and Kelly Phipps Metal Works facebook page.
