Mining
Hypertherm's mechanized plasma systems are used to manufacture mining equipment, such as conveyors and hoppers. Virtually dross-free cutting means parts can be welded together with minimal prep work. Hand-held systems are most commonly used to maintain and repair the heavy equipment used at the mines.

- Cutting off corroded bolts to repair bulldozer tracks.
- Pipe fabrication and repair.
- Gouging out welds prior to repairing trucks and loaders.
