Work/life balance

Hypertherm understands there is more to life than work! Our Associates are parents, students, caregivers, community activists, coaches and volunteers. Hypertherm believes there is great importance in providing the support needed to ensure that our Associates maintain a healthy balance between work and life! This is why we offer the following programs:

Community service time
Hypertherm thinks every company has an obligation to give back to the community. Like many companies, we donate money and products. But we also take that a step further by donating time. Each one of our Associates is given 16 hours of paid community service time each year. Everyone benefits from this model. The Associate who gets to give back, and the nonprofit who receives a helping hand.

As a company that believes very strongly in Associate development, Hypertherm has a very generous education program. We have an entire team devoted to helping you meet your educational goals, whether you want to improve your communication skills, build leadership skills, or learn a new Microsoft Office platform. We also offer 100% tuition reimbursement. This means that if you want to go back to school to get a degree or advanced degree, Hypertherm will pay for the entire cost of your education.

Hypertherm has an on-site fitness room with exercise equipment that is available to Associates 24/7. In addition, there are exercise classes (aerobics, Pilates, yoga) held at no extra charge for Associates. There are also several Associate sport teams such as basketball, soccer, hockey and biking. Also, currently in the works is a hiking club. The possibilities are endless for any type of activity! Hypertherm has an Associate Assistance Program that is free to Associates and available at all times for help with a wide variety of issues. This advice is completely confidential and is accessable around the clock.

Here at Hypertherm Associates have the option to work a Flex-Schedule. This is Associate directed and arranged on an individual basis so that it can be tailored to meet the needs of the Associate working in the program.

Onsite wellness center
Hypertherm has an on-site wellness center, the H.A.W.C., with a dedicated staff of two, a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner. They are available to our associates free of charge for maintenance of chronic conditions or diagnosis of acute problems as needed. This is a wonderful option for our associates as they can receive the care they need in a much more timely manner than scheduling a doctor's visit. This saves associates time in their busy day as well as insurance costs for a doctor's visit. All information is confidential and the service is available to associates on all three shifts. The H.A.W.C. opened in the first part of 2009 and has been very well utilized and appreciated by associates.
