A Letter from Hypertherm Founder and President Dick Couch
Dear Neighbor,
It has been 40 years since the founding of Hypertherm. Things were obviously much different back then. We didn’t have a modern facility with orders coming in and shipments going out to all corners of the globe. Instead, we worked out of a two car garage with no computers, no phones, and no advanced manufacturing equipment.
There was however, one thing that remains the same today: our location. For 40 years, Hypertherm’s roots have been on Great Hollow Road. We have been fortunate to enjoy tremendous success here. Innovative engineering and smart business decisions have no doubt played a part in our accomplishments. But I know the greater part of our achievement is due to one thing: people. It is the hard work of our Associates and the support of this community that have made Hypertherm the company it is today.
We are grateful for that and have tried hard to be a good neighbor in return. Every company needs to be socially responsible and we have stood behind that belief by making the community and the environment one of our core values. Hypertherm is obligated to do all it can for our community: we will work hard to help the less fortunate, to volunteer in our community and do the right thing for the environment. After all, this is our home too.
You may have read recent news reports about Hypertherm’s desire to design a small campus like environment on Great Hollow Road. This desire isn’t something we have hastily come up with. A group of us have been wrestling with how best to address our need for more space for some time now. We have looked at many options and believe the best option for Hypertherm and the community is to expand near our current headquarters on Great Hollow Road.
We are committed to communicating our plans clearly with our neighbors and listening to any input you may have. Hopefully, this Web site helps to answer your questions.
